I had purchased this fishtank a while back that came with a "Saltwater for Dummies" book (I love that, I think it's funny and it definitely came in handy as I knew zero people who were salt water enthusiasts).
I had a "fish only" tank going for a while, took it down because I was back and forth with San Francisco a lot at the time, then decided to start it up again as a coral reef set up. Actually, let me rephrase that thought. I recall wanting to put only "one clown fish" in there and leave it at that. Next thing you know I'm going full blast, as fast as possible with it. I had a range of creatures in there, basically as many as I could cram in there - swimming fish, various crabs, bottom dwellers, at least three different types of shrimps (some that were tiny tiny and only found upon close inspection).
It was like crack (not that I've tried crack) - but I was riding my bike with bags of fish stuffed in various interior jacket pockets on a weekly basis. Eventually I got frustrated with the time and money I had to put into it and called it quits (side-note: The largest part of my frustration was with this long haired algae problem - which was because I wasn't running what's called a "refuge tank" that connects to this main tank).
I do miss it but I enjoy being able to pick and travel when I want. I now have a very nice Pomeranian Display for my pup, Bentley. (Extra, extra side-note: Indeed he's comfortable pretty much anywhere I put him, but he was only actually in the tank for about 3 minutes =).
